Bakers Gonna Bake

I am a baker at heart.

The kitchen appliance I use the most is the baby blue KitchenAid stand mixer that my mom gave me for my 21st birthday over 20 years ago.

I volunteered to bake two desserts for my son’s school fundraiser this evening. I made this lemon and olive oil pound cake…

And a double batch of My Mom’s Brownies…

I love to bake early in the morning on a weekend, no music playing, just enjoying the quiet of my kitchen, drinking my coffee while the rest of my family sleeps.

And I especially love baking for others. Delivering cookies or a simple cake to my neighbors’ doorstep.

All of my favorite baking tools are listed on my website but two special shoutouts to these parchment sheets and basic digital timers. I do sometimes use my phone or Apple watch to set timers but an old school kitchen timer is my preference.
