The joy of baking for others.
I am a regular baker. I enjoy the process itself but the real joy for me is baking for others. The giving it away. It’s a simple kindness, a small way to show care, or even just a salve for a low mood.
This simple one-bowl cake is a favorite. Scented with orange zest and vanilla, it comes together quickly and is one you can rely on for any occasion including it just being a Sunday.
I keep these kraft bakery boxes and cardboard cake rounds on hand and use basic kitchen twine to tie it up which makes if feel like a true gift.
